Further information on the ingredients:

  • High specification formulation containing a broad spectrum of vitamins, minerals, trace elements (from chelated and inorganic sources for optimum bioavailability), as well as essential amino acids. Please see the table below for levels per serve.

  • Prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics to support digestive health and wellbeing.  Prebiotic from short chain fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), to support a healthy microbiota, especially during times of stress and diet change. Probiotic from live Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast to support the microbiome and confer a health benefit to the horse. Plus postbiotics which are a microbial fermentate, composed of hundreds of bioactive compounds. These bioactives work synergistically with the biology of the horse to support health and performance. Postbiotics include beneficial compounds such as mannan-oligosaccharide (MOS) and beta-glucans, as well as hundreds of functional metabolites including: phytosterols, organic acids, antioxidants (polyphenols), nucleotides, peptides, proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, phospholipids, oligosaccharides and short-chain fatty acids. The postbiotic included in Comprehensive Lamigard Pellets has published, peer reviewed research to support its use in the horse. Postbiotics benefit the horse by: maintaining optimal gut function and a healthy gut microbiome, as well as helping to manage everyday stress.
  • Boswellia serrata provides powerful plant-based support for the horses’ own anti-inflammatory systems, as well as antioxidants and other important phytochemicals to support joint health and comfort. The Boswellic Acids, in particular, AKBA (Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid) have been shown to support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes, helping to maintain performance and comfort.
  • Support for the hoof is provided from biotin at levels supported by research (20mg per 250g serve). As well as the essential sulphur containing amino acid methionine and minerals zinc, copper and calcium which support hoof growth and quality.
  • MSM is a powerful antioxidant that helps support the horses’ own anti-inflammatory systems, as well as a bioavailable source of organic sulphur. Sulphur is an important mineral for healthy hooves, with its role in bonding hoof tubules as well as a component of collagen.
MSM is not listed on the prohibited substances database (2023/2024) under FEI rules and is therefore permitted. In August 2022, British Horse Racing released an update to the rules of racing and listed MSM as a threshold substance with a residue limit of 1200 micrograms per litre in urine.
  • Potent blend of antioxidants including Vitamin E, melon pulp, rosemary and grape extract, to mop up harmful free radicals.

  • Grapeseed extract, is rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins, with powerful antioxidant effects, with up to 11 times the antioxidant activity of vitamin E.

  • Melon pulp is a natural source of the important antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) (containing a minimum of 2.6 x 106 iu SOD per kg of melon pulp).

  • Rosemary extract provides further antioxidant support.
  • Nutritional support for the endocrine and metabolic system. Cinnamon provides a natural source of chromium and polyphenols (antioxidants) which may help support insulin sensitivity. Folic Acid is a nitric oxide precursor to support healthy blood vessels.

BETA NOPS and UFAS accredited, making Comprehensive Lamigard Pellets suitable for horses competing under FEI regulations and the Rules of Racing by reducing the risk of our products containing prohibited substances.
